Drama has always been a passion of mine and many skills I learnt along the way were put into good use with my original career as a Buyer for Selfridges and Woolworths.  Whilst still working in London, I helped a friend and colleague with her Dancing school, Alexanders School of Dance, which then gave me the platform to set up FSD.   I have also taught Drama at St. Cedd’s School , Maldon Court and Newhall.  Twenty years on ,I am very lucky and proud to run a school with excellent teachers, wonderful children and supportive parents.  It is so rewarding to see a quiet child blossom into a confident young adult, with skills to take them forward in life whether it be in the profession of Acting or another chosen path.

I have had many roles at FSD - a student, a teaching assistant and now a teacher- I enjoy every minute of my life at FSD and have made many life-long friends!

My degree in acting is from the University of Northampton and my most recent professional acting role was in an immersive theatre production of War of the Worlds.

I am an associate artist of the theatre company N2P and have recently taken on the role of Young Change-maker at the Queens Theatre.

Working with the kids at FSD is really enjoyable and it's great watching them grow in confidence !

I first joined FSD when I was four years old. It was a great way for me to meet new friends and help my confidence! I stayed with FSD until I was eighteen, achieving Distinction in my Gold Medal, when I went off to Nottingham Uni. After that, I trained as an Actor at the Guildford School of Acting where I’ve recently graduated from. When I heard FSD were looking for another teacher, I jumped at the opportunity and I’m finding it so rewarding seeing all the kids grow with each class. Whether they want to pursue a career in performing or not, the experiences, skills and friendships you can take away from FSD are invaluable!

Having been at FSD since I was 6 years old, I was so excited to have been asked by Fran when I was 18 to be a Class Assistant.  It is such a family orientated, friendly school where every child is made to feel special and appreciated. I left a year later to study in Birmingham to be a primary school teacher however kept popping in to see my FSD family throughout my 3 years training. Having graduated from university as a fully qualified teacher, I was beyond excited to hear Fran had a space for a teacher, so I jumped back on board and have loved my 2 years since then. I enjoy being at the side of the stage even more so than being on, and the rewards are even better!!

I have been teaching since the age of 14, firstly at Starshine School of Dance, then my own Dance School , Smart Steps. I have been with  FSD since 2009.  I was once a professional dancer , treading the boards on the London Stage aswell as Warner Leisure Hotels, where I was Dance Captain and choreographer.  I now teach both dance and drama at FSD. I really enjoy being part of FSD; the teachers are all so committed and enthusiastic. The pupils are wonderful and it’s great to see them achieve such great things.

I've been part of FSD since 2002 as a pupil then Class Assistant. While attending FSD my confidence grew year on year, I'm thankful to Fran and the friends I made along the way. Fortunately I'm still here, teaching on a Saturday having lots of fun and helping kids develop their acting skills.  I find it most rewarding to see a students confidence grow as mine did. I have also taken part in the Camp America Programme as a Drama Specialist.

Over the last six years, FSD has not just been a job it has become my 'additional crazy' family and I am extremely proud to be part of such a dynamic team that always supports my ideas. FSD has become an inspirational place to teach always challenging my skills in the acting and musical theatre classes.

I also teach at the Cornelius Vermuyden School in Canvey Island as Head of Media Studies.

After working in London for 15 years, I first became involved with FSD in 2007 when my son joined the school, and I began helping back stage during the shows as a parent helper. I loved getting to know the children and to see first hand how much fun they had, and how enthusiastic the teachers are. I joined the school officially in 2012 when I took over the administration and enrolment, and thoroughly enjoy being part of the FSD family.
