Drama has always been a passion of mine and many skills I learnt along the way were put into good use with my original career as a Buyer for Selfridges and Woolworths.  Whilst still working in London, I helped a friend and colleague with her Dancing school, Alexanders School of Dance, which then gave me the platform to set up FSD.   I have also taught Drama at St. Cedd’s School , Maldon Court and Newhall.  Twenty years on ,I am very lucky and proud to run a school with excellent teachers, wonderful children and supportive parents.  It is so rewarding to see a quiet child blossom into a confident young adult, with skills to take them forward in life whether it be in the profession of Acting or another chosen path.

I have been a part of FSD since I was 7 years old and began teaching ,as an assistant in drama and musical theatre classes, from the age of 15.

As an actor, my time at FSD has hugely helped get me to where I am today, from becoming a National Youth Theatre member, ambassador and facilitator, to training at Mountview.

I love being  a part of FSD and so, when I finished drama school, it was a no brainer to come back and teach here!

I joined FSD at just 4 years old as a way to build my confidence. I stayed until I was 18 and over those years I discovered a passion for the performing arts. I went on to study a BSc at the University of Nottingham, followed by a Master's in Acting at the Guilford School of Acting, before returning to FSD as a Teacher. Alongside teaching at FSD , I also work at The Walt Disney Company. It's such a privelage to play a small part in our students' development and to see how their confidence and creativity grow, both on and off stage.FSD is an incredibly supportive environment- from teachers and students alike- and the variety of productions, classes and opportunities keeps everyone excited throughout the year.

Having been at FSD since I was 6 years old, I was so excited to have been asked by Fran when I was 18 to be a Class Assistant.  It is such a family orientated, friendly school where every child is made to feel special and appreciated. I left a year later to study in Birmingham to be a primary school teacher however kept popping in to see my FSD family throughout my 3 years training. Having graduated from university as a fully qualified teacher, I was beyond excited to hear Fran had a space for a teacher, so I jumped back on board and have loved my 2 years since then. I enjoy being at the side of the stage even more so than being on, and the rewards are even better!!

I have been teaching since the age of 14, firstly at Starshine School of Dance, then my own Dance School , Smart Steps. I have been with  FSD since 2009.  I was once a professional dancer , treading the boards on the London Stage aswell as Warner Leisure Hotels, where I was Dance Captain and choreographer.

I now teach both dance and drama at FSD as well as teaching LAMDA 1:1and in small groups at St John's School.

I really enjoy being part of FSD; the teachers are all so committed and enthusiastic. The pupils are wonderful and it’s great to see them achieve such great things.

I have been part of FSD since I was 7 years old! When leaving at 18, FSD had given me the confidence I needed to get into drama school.

I graduated from Italia Contain in 2024 with a BA (Hons) in Musical Theatre.

Being back at FSD, as a teacher, has been a full circle moment. Seeing the kids grow and transform is a truly amazing experience.

FSD is one big, supportive, happy family and that's what makes it the best place ever!

I've been part of FSD for 9 years, first as a student and now as a teacher. The school has had such a big impact on my life, helping me grow in confidence and creativity and shaping me into who I am today.

It's so rewarding to see the young people at FSD grow throughout their time and working alongside a lovely and supportive team just makes it even better!

All FSD teachers are fully qualified and have up to date DBS checks. Many of our current senior students volunteer to help in the younger classes.

The team are a friendly, encouraging and approachable group who are totally dedicated to FSD and the students, and love doing what they do!
